Denise Coleman also known as Denice Coleman aka Lady D, Cali D was born in Stockton California October 5th, 1971. Raised in Richmond California, Graduated High School from Bal Boa High School in San Francisco. Attended San Francisco State University, Transferred to the the University of Lafayette Louisiana. Education in Film started from taking film classes at South Louisiana Community College and Acadiana Open Channel in Lafayette Louisiana.
She began her career in film as a camerawoman and line producer. She collaborated on her first
DVD ” Bottom of the Boot” which hosted interviews from Rappers from all over Louisiana. She then was the camerawoman for Bush Wick Bill, a rapper out of Texas and member of the Getto Boys. She then worked with Song Writer and singer Carl Martin R&B Artist from the group Shai. Denise was his line producer and cameraman for a few music videos for local rap artist Carl Martin was managing. Denise was Line Producer on her first short Film ”Sac-a-Lait” 30 min HD short written by Marcus Brown- Teacher and Professional Actor. Then she Produced Film ” I Madeline ” in Oakland California. Denise was also the Line producer for Pharoah Films ”All the World” and ” All the Love” SI-Fi film. She has Graduated to 2nd Assistant Director on Film ”Strong Hawk- My Sister’s Keeper” Full-Length Film – SciFi Film is written by Damon Hart Produced by Charles Powell and Directed by Ramasses Head.
Now she is directing music videos for clients signed to Sony Du Damage and Kaper.. She Produced Over 14 shows for Acadiana Open Channel, Directed and Produced multiple episodes of ”Diva Talk Tonite” Day Time Talk Show for PBS channel and Channel 26. Denise is currently working on a behind the scenes documentary ” Hip Hop with Disabilities for Rap Artist Kafani and Keak Da Sneak produced by Keldamuzik. In Progress now Denise is working on Video/documentary for the Internationally known Rap Icon Artist Rass Kass in Las Angeles, California.
Future Goals for Denise is to apply for the Directors Guild in Los Angeles, CA in 2020.
